Quick summary

Findo is an AI-powered home decor shopping assistant. To help you find items that fit your taste, Findo needs a small amount of information about you and what you're looking for. This Policy explains what we collect, how it's used, and the choices you have.

In short:

  • Findo collects your email, basic profile information, and the item briefs and style preferences you share to help it search.
  • Findo sends search queries (not your identity) to third-party marketplaces such as Etsy to find matching items.
  • Findo does not sell your data, does not use it for advertising, and does not train AI models on it.
  • You can delete your account and your data at any time from Settings.

1. Who we are

Findo (“Findo,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is operated as an individual project based in California, USA. This Policy applies to your use of Findo at fromfindo.com and findo-app.vercel.app.

2. Who this policy applies to

This Policy applies to anyone who visits Findo, signs up for an account, or uses Findo's services. Findo is intended for users aged 18 or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18.

3. Information we collect

Waitlist information.

  • Email address — submitted when you join the public preview waitlist on the marketing page.
  • Referral source — captured if you arrive via a tracked link.
  • Submission timestamp.

Account information.

  • Email address — required for sign-in via magic link.
  • Display name — optional; defaults to your email prefix until you set one.
  • Location — your postcode, the approximate latitude/longitude derived from it, your timezone derived from those coordinates, and your country code. Findo uses this to show items that can be delivered to you, and to schedule when your daily search runs in your local time.

Brief and preference information.

  • Item descriptions you write (e.g. “a coffee table for a relaxed living room”).
  • Style preferences — style chips you select and free-text style description.
  • Budget and search radius preferences.

Activity information.

  • Items you save to your list.
  • When you last opened Findo — used to identify inactive accounts.

Technical information.

  • IP address and basic device/browser metadata, collected automatically by our hosting provider for security and to operate the service.
  • Aggregated, anonymised page-view counts via cookieless analytics (see Section 6).

4. How we use your information

We use your information to:

  • Provide and operate Findo's core service: finding items that match your brief and style, showing them to you in the app, saving items you choose to keep, and managing your account.
  • Send transactional emails — magic-link sign-in and account deletion confirmations.
  • Notify you when Findo opens, if you have joined the public preview waitlist. Joining the waitlist is your consent to receive that single notification; we do not use waitlist emails for any other marketing.
  • Maintain the security and integrity of the service.
  • Comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your information for advertising, do not sell or rent it, and do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

5. Third-party services Findo uses

Findo uses service providers in the following categories to operate: hosting and database, authentication, transactional email, cookieless aggregate analytics, and postcode autocomplete. These providers process information only as needed to deliver their service to Findo.

In addition, Findo relies on the following services, which are material to how the product works:

  • Anthropic Claude API — receives the text of the brief you write so Findo can extract structured attributes (item type, materials, colours) used to search marketplaces. No marketplace data and no other personal information is sent.
  • Etsy— receives search query strings (such as “wooden coffee table”) generated from your brief. No identifying information about you is sent to Etsy.

When you click a result, you are taken to the marketplace's website, where the marketplace's own privacy policy and terms apply. Findo does not control what happens after you leave Findo.

6. Cookies and similar technologies

Findo uses the minimum technologies necessary to operate:

  • Authentication cookies (httpOnly, secure, session-bound) so you stay signed in.
  • Local browser storage to hold onboarding progress until you complete setup, after which it is cleared.
  • Cookieless aggregate analytics — no tracking cookies, no cross-site identifiers.

Findo does not use advertising cookies or third-party trackers.

7. Data retention

  • Waitlist emails are kept until Findo opens. After we send the launch notification, your email is kept for up to 12 months and then deleted. You can request removal sooner at any time.
  • Account data is kept while your account is active.
  • If you start sign-up but do not complete onboarding within 30 days, your account is automatically deleted.
  • Your active session expires 30 days after your last sign-in.
  • Items you save remain on your list until you remove them or delete your account.
  • When you delete your account, all data associated with it is removed from Findo's database.

8. Your rights

You can:

  • Request removal from the public preview waitlist by emailing info@fromfindo.com from the same email address.
  • Access and update your information from Settings.
  • Delete your account and all associated data from Settings (Delete Account).
  • Request a copy of your data by contacting us (see Section 13). We will provide it within 30 days.

If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA), including the right to know what personal information Findo collects about you, the right to request deletion, the right to correct inaccurate information, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. Findo does not sell your personal information.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us (see Section 13).

9. Security

Findo uses industry-standard practices to protect your information, including encrypted secret storage, HTTPS-only transport, and PKCE-based authentication. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to reduce risk.

If we become aware of a data breach affecting your information, we will notify you in line with applicable law.

10. Children

Findo is not intended for use by children under 18. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided personal information to Findo, please contact us and we will delete it.

11. International users

Findo currently operates in the United States only. Our services and infrastructure are hosted in the United States. If you access Findo from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be transferred to and processed in the United States.

12. Changes to this policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of Findo after changes constitutes acceptance. For material changes, we will provide additional notice.

13. Contact

If you have questions about this Policy or your data, email info@fromfindo.com. To exercise rights related to your account, please contact us from the email address associated with your account.
